After another weak showing last week, a Smackdown that was superior and Wrestlemania just around the corner; WWE find themselves in a tight spot, again.
Roman Reigns Clashes with Stephanie McMahon
This was my impression yesterday:
That’s the only thing I can think off. If that was the idea, you still could hear the boos and see their gestures on the background. They’ll have to do some green screen tricks and some heavy editing to get rid of those.
Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles
Excellent match. This begs the question, why isn’t AJ in the Intercontinental title picture?
They could have merged AJ/Y2J feud with the Intercontinental title. AJ/Y2J could be bigger this way and the questionable participants on the 7 man ladder match would look way better.
Terry Funk Meets Dean Ambrose
This is getting a lot of interest into this match. I’m afraid it might not deliver the bloody hardcore match they are insinuating so it might bite them back at the end.
Big E vs. Rusev
This could have been an awesome feud if LON was not treated as a joke for months now. That said, everyone is making the best of what they have to work with.
The Social Outcasts Surround Big Show
This is shaping to be an awful Andre the Giant Battle Royale.
Chris Jericho vs. Fandango
Fandango is far from being considered a threat, so this was no surprise at all. It just allowed AJ/Y2J feud to get exposed a bit more. I’ll have to say that Y2J interference was better done.
Stardust vs. Sin Cara
I won’t even grade this match as it basically didn’t happen. This was as random as randomness could get. No disrespect to anyone, but besides Dolph, no one is in a position to be in a title match. This could be an interesting match at Wrestlemania, but the odds of the title switching hands are really slim if you look at the participants.
Owens vs. AJ Styles vs. Y2J vs. Dolph in a ladder match would have been a way better match.
Natalya vs. Charlotte
I love to see Natalya perform, but it’s sad she’s being underused. Not saying she should be inserted in the title match (she deserves it, but have been portrayed poorly) but she should shortly after.
Bubba Ray Dudley vs. R-Truth
The match wasn’t anything special and the events after it didn’t help either. This feud is just not working. They’ll have to add tables or something into a triple threat match to make it somewhat work and still feels weak.
The Dudleys need to come out as strong title contenders, specially now that the New Day seem to be faces by the magic of the Booty O’s.
Vince McMahon’s Hell in a Cell Announcement
Too little too late on the feud for this. This seemed like a first step in the feud that never happened. As I’ve said before, unless Shane throws himself from the top of the cell, this match will just be a train wreck. Even if he does it’ll still be a train wreck, but a memorable one at least.
Dean Ambrose vs. Braun Strowman
A train wreck. This feud had a nice build up up to this point. It was a clear message of “look how I can handle big guys with weapons” type of deal. This was in no way the right finish to RAW. Sigh.
Besides the awesome first match, this was another train wreck. Same wreck that Wrestlemania is heading into.
