Monday Night RAW, March 14th

Started with lots of potential but fell flat on their faces…

WWE Tag Team Title Match: The New Day vs. The League of Nations

A solid match. League of Nations is turning into a serious contender for the belts. It would be awesome to have a 4-on-3 Elimination match for the belts or something around there.

8/10

Dean Ambrose Promo

Sin Cara vs. Ryback

Not the best of matches, but did what it was meant to do: give Kalisto a big enough challenge for his belt. At this time I won’t be against Ryback winning it as Kalisto has been fun, but it’s harder every day to see him with the belt.

Not his fault…

6/10

Triple H Promo

Now this was a match to get excited for. Well played, interesting stipulations. What could go wrong? Everything…

Sami Zayn vs. The Miz

Not sure what was the deal with Miz attacking KO here. Sami vs. Owens is OK as it is. Not sure adding Miz to it is a good move. Maybe they were just exploring/opening the door?

5/10

Brie Bella and Alicia Fox vs. Naomi and Tamina

I’m glad they are adding Divas to this feud. Lana vs. Brie is not PPV worthy material, even less Wrestlemania material.

Hard to argue it’s hard to avoid looking at Lana, but that’s not enough to drive this feud.

4/10

The Usos vs. The Social Outcasts

This is another feud that has died after a good start. Unless they add tables, ladders and/or chairs it is destined to fail.

WWE creative has just forgotten this feud and took it for granted. Social Outcasts are doomed at this point. WWE creative dropped the ball again.

4/10

Non-Title Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Triple H

Amazing match as expected. Two straight great matches in 3 days shows us that HHH is ready for Wrestlemania and beyond.

Still believe it could have been done better. I’ll talk about this later.

9/10

And then it happened. Reigns came back assaulting HHH. Another attempt to swing fans to his side failed miserably.

WWE needs to give up on him as a face at least. If he somehow interfered in the HHH/Dolph match, like using a faint punch on Dolph just to give him the win and then attack HHH it would have been better.

Not saying that would make fans love him more (maybe, who knows) but at least we gave Dolph a well deserved Wrestlemania spot.

Neville vs. Chris Jericho

Looked like Neville got injured and Y2J had to take the lead and improvise.

Wouldn’t be fair to rate this one.

Undertaker Confronts the McMahons

Shane started playing mind tricks on Undertaker paving the way to a miraculous Shane win.

Conclusion

There was so much potential, and 4 straight segments that were gold at the start gave me hope. Until they screwed up big time.

Amount of matches was fine this time around, just lacked good performances/story lines.

In Ring: 6/10

As a show it did better. The promos were well done, although is hard to consider Shane as a real threat when you see him throwing punches (rolls eyes). I think it would help him if he had a match prior to Wrestlemania against Mark Henry for example. Sadly that will show too many weaknesses and probably would require him to do those big stunt moves to win that they are saving for Wrestlemania.
