As noted, Ric Flair stated on his podcast that Vince McMahon reportedly tried getting WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels to come out of retirement and work last month’s Royal Rumble 30-man main event.
According to PWInsider Elite, Shawn turned down the Royal Rumble offer however the company is hoping he could have a significant role at WrestleMania 32. WWE officials are said to be highly interested in getting Michaels to be a big part of WrestleMania 32, which happens to be taking place in his home state of Texas.
Current speculated rumors suggest a possible role for Shawn could be working as a special referee for a Roman Reigns vs. Triple H World Heavyweight Championship match.
As noted, WWE officials were hoping Batista could appear as special referee but he turned the offer down.
